Parkinson Disease Latino Support Program
(PDLSP)
We created the Latino Parkinson's Disease Support Program because there simply isn't enough support for Latinos with Parkinson's.
With our newly implemented program, we are establishing the Parkinson support group for the Latino community in Spanish. The main purpose of the program is to provide not just support for all individuals but also to their caregivers. This rapidly growing disease with the greater incidence rate in the Anglo and Latino races has alerted us and inspires us to create this program. In this program, twice a week patients and their families are meeting with our counselors, physical therapists, massage therapists, psychologist, and presentation from different neurologists, and professionals with experience in Parkinson. To promote this program we have organized two Parkinson Conferences for the Latino community for two years in a row. For the support group, we already have a team of professionals working with us: Neurologist Kenneth Martinez, Physical Therapist Patricia Brown, Massage Therapist, and Psychologist Nidia Moran.
To promote this program, we have organized Parkinson's conferences for the Latino community FOR 4 years in a row.
